NOTICE: The following letter was sent both by email and by snail mail on the below date listed. It was sent on following occasions to the persons whose names you see listed. Now that a new administration has taken over as of January 20, 2001, the same basic letter (addressed to President Bush and Vice President Cheney) will be sent on a regular basis until our Lord returns or I am moved out of this world via the avenue of physical death to that special place (John 14:1ff) my Lord says He is preparing for His people, whichever occurs first! Copies will be going to various political leaders and church leaders. Dear President and Mrs. Clinton and Vice President and Mrs. Gore:
We are a nation that professes to acknowledge the existence of God Who created all things for His pleasure and purpose. We do this in the recitation of our Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States and by the inscription, “In God We Trust,” placed on United States coins and currency.
We stand in imminent danger of devastating judgment being initiated against us by this God due to our massive rejection of His moral code which provides the foundation for an ongoing stable, sane, and healthy culture. Our rampant self-centeredness, idolatry, vulgarity, immorality, greed, and insatiable "shedding of innocent blood" (i.e. destruction of thousands of unborn children each week) can do nothing but provoke a response from Almighty God which will prove to be nothing short of an unprecedented disaster for the citizens of this nation!
Perhaps there may still be time for the political and religious leadership of this nation to personally set an example by repenting of all language, practices, attitudes, involvements, and desires which the eternal and holy God regards to be offensive, and issue a clear public call for all citizens to do likewise!
The price is far greater than any human can comprehend if there is failure to press for genuine and total repentance in all realms and at all levels of our nation’s social structure. We have a tragic example as to what happens when God’s call to repent is ignored as portrayed in 2 Chronicles 36:11-16 in the Scriptures. We have a solemn warning in Galatians 6:7,8 that the law of sowing and reaping is still in effect and God cannot be mocked without the guilty parties paying a very high price! In case we struggle at being specific in identifying our offenses and expressing our sorrow over the same, a good guideline is given in Daniel 9.
