“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other. So, because you are luke-warm - neither hot nor cold - I am about to spit you out of my mouth..” ---Revelation 3:15-17“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” ---Matthew 7:21
America is in a great cultural war. While many do not like to admit it there are strong movements working to change our morality, our ethics and our beliefs. Organizations such as the ACLU are endeavoring to destroy the Christian foundation of this great nation. We are rapidly becoming a nation in need of therapy. Unfortunately, many people refuse to believe it is happening, while others are not willing to stand firm and fight.
In a recent decision the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that Atheism is a religion. Wiccans have filed suit against some city commissions to ban Christian prayers. In other areas Wiccans are demanding the right to give prayers at meetings. There is a movement now to allow people to take their oath in a United States Courtroom using a Koran instead of a Bible.
We are now seeing in the political arena great opposition developing to the appointment of a new Supreme Court Justice based mainly on his beliefs. The main objection to his appointment is that he could possibly be pro-life and not pro-abortion,. Secondly, he is a man with Christian beliefs and that scares a great number of people. It, somehow, seems that if a person puts a value on human life and has a belief in God, he is unfit to be in public service. If those attempting to destroy our culture had their way: Abortion would be a sacred right as well as sodomy and same same-sex marriage; Freedom of speech would mean free Internet porn in public libraries. This should tell us a great deal about where our nation is headed.
Unfortunately, our problems do not end here. Quietly and without much publicity there are great efforts to influence the young people of America by the government school system. Concerted efforts are through various curricula to destroy parental influence and mold coming generations into more politically correct and “open-minded” people; people not bound by outdated religious beliefs and morals. Groups like Planned Parenthood and homosexual advocates are constantly trying to influence the education of our young people and give them a morality which is in direct conflict with the Christian faith
As Chrstians have stood back and said nothing over the past years, the acceptance of abortion, acceptance of the homosexual life style, the idea that all religions are equal and all people will be saved have infiltrated the Christian churches and in some denominations have taken control. Yet, with all of this happening no great movement has developed among Christian believers to fight for their faith. For many years the Christians in this country have been referred to as “The Silent Majority.” It is time to quit being silent and to become “The Vocal and Outspoken Majority.”
