Barbaric and Heartless? Yes, Beyond All Doubt!
But Are They Any Worse Than Those Who
Commit Similar Acts in the U.S.A?
Indignation reached an unprecedented level of expression upon learning of the beheading of Pennsylvania native, Nicholas Berg, at the hands of Muslim militants on May 11, 2004 in Iraq.
A video was made of the execution which was preceded by the reading of a number of statements. These indicated retaliation for the abuse of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. military personnel. It also must be remembered that this small group considered this act to be one in which they were ridding the world of one more infidel as they shouted the praises of Allah! After the reading of the statements, Berg, who had been sitting on the floor in front of the masked Muslims, was violently kicked over on to his side and one of the militants proceeded to decapitate him with a huge knife. After the atrocity had been accomplished the "executioner" held the victim's head up by the hair in a close up video scene!
U.S. government officials were very quick to respond with statements which employed the most negative rhetoric possible. Such a response could be expected and this was supplemented with vows to apprehend and bring to justice those responsible for such a heinous deed.
While the perpetrators involved in Nicholas Berg's violent death are justly condemned with the high hope of eventually bringing each one to justice, there is a deeply troubling question to consider.
We in the United States are quick to fire our verbal cannons in condemnation against those who brutally snuffed out the life of Nicholas Berg but at the same time refuse to recognize much less condemn with equal passion those who are guilty of similar acts within the boundaries of the United States!
You say, "How can that be? We have no one who is free to do things similar to what was done to Nicholas Berg. Anyone committing such a horrible act would be quickly taken into custody, tried in a court of law, found guilty, and punished for the deed!"
Are you absolutely sure of this?
Now then, take some time to closely examine the 2 photos just below.
These are not victims of mutilation & murder in Iraq!
Would you agree that the 2 individuals in the photos suffered death as a result of very brutal acts committed against them? Notice that one was decapitated, and remind yourself that this took place somewhere on United States soil!
Would you agree that had these brutal acts NOT been committed that these 2 individuals would have continued to live?
Further, are you aware that the persons responsible for the violent deaths of these 2 individuals were paid large amounts of money to murder them and have never been charged with a criminal act?
Do you sense that something is terribly amiss here? And when our officials (and news media people) are quick to condemn the violent murder of a U.S. citizen in Iraq but remain silent over the violent murders of future citizens within the borders of the United States -- does that not reveal the epitome of hypocrisy in the most callused way possible?
Do you feel such officials should be held accountable and that those who actually mutilate and murder our unborn future citizens should be charged with 1st Degree Murder since in every case these were pre-meditated acts planned in advance?
Will it ever happen? Not likely -- certainly not as long as large numbers of citizens and elected officials insist it is a "constitutional right" to do what was done to the victims you see pictured above. The situation is worsened due to the fact that there are those who privately may admit they are opposed to abortion which stops the beating of a human heart 100 per cent of the time, but will not speak up publicly and declare this to be an abomination of the first magnitude, and one which invites the wrath of a holy God!
However, that being the situation, there is something we can expect with absolute certainty -- the fact that well over 43.75 million individuals have been brutally mutilated and murdered in the human womb since January 1973 has not taken place unnoticed by the Creator of all human life on planet Earth!
And since it has not gone unnoticed and there is no national remorse over our invention of a holocaust of the most barbaric kind, then we have nothing to look forward to but God's response to more than 3 decades of the "shedding of innocent blood" at a rate unmatched by any other nation in history. The seriousness of these "crimes against humanity" is all the more intensified due the United States' (leaders and citizens) claim of being a nation "under God!"
And since we deliberately short circuited the plans God had for all those unborn children, it is imperative that wise people think of the very real possibility of judgment poured out on this nation by the One Who knew each of us before we were conceived in our mother's wombs -- skeptical about this? Then do a slow and serious reading of Jeremiah 1:4,5 and Psalm 139 -- that is, if you are not afraid to do so.
Time for honesty in our thinking process -- really now, is the act which violently ended the life of Nicholas Berg any worse than the acts which took the lives of the 2 persons pictured above? The only difference is the ages of the victims. BUT what is identical is the fact that God's prohibition against murder was violated in all those circumstances!
Now then, just what do you intend to do about it?
You can speak up -- protest -- you can copy the above pictures and send them to elected officials and church leaders -- and you can pray that God will visit upon the heads of those who commit such acts of violence the fruit of their heinous deeds. He has done that in the past!
