It's Back to Business As Usual with
No Soul Searching and No Remorse!

We Can Handle Anything "Mother Nature" Throws At Us!

"I brought you into a bountiful country, to eat its fruit and its goodness. But when you entered, you defiled My land and made My heritage an abomination. The priests did not say, 'Where is the LORD?' And those who handle the law did not know Me; the rulers also transgressed against Me; the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit. Therefore I will yet bring charges against you," says the LORD, "And against your children's children I will bring charges.....Has a nation changed its gods, which are not gods? But My people have changed their Glory for what does not profit. Be astonished, O heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid; be very desolate," says the LORD. "For My people have committed two evils: they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, and hewn themselves cisterns; broken cisterns that can hold no water.....Your own wickedness will correct you, and your backslidings will reprove you. Know therefore and see that it is an evil and bitter thing that you have forsaken the LORD your God, and the fear of Me is not in you," says the Lord GOD of hosts. -- Jeremiah 2:7-9,11-13,19

Two "hits" in a row, not to mention other various calamities our nation has been experiencing, and as always, it's back to business as usual as we pour billions of dollars into areas devastated by recent hurricanes. And our president, who has stressed the need for us citizens to conserve in our use of gasoline due to possible shortages, continues to use a super luxury aircraft which costs thousands of dollars per hour during flight time as he repeatedly visits the Gulf Coast areas as casually as you walk down to the corner pizza shop for a medium with pepperoni, onions, and green peppers! So it is more than likely that there will be a call for more billions in the weeks ahead, especially since Texas got slapped a bit by Rita!

In fact, if anything, our tendency to boast becomes stronger each time it has happened as we Americans pride ourselves on our resiliency -- we bounce back -- we are a generous and compassionate people, so let "Mother Nature" give us her best punch! In response we'll reclaim, rebuild, restore, remake, redo, refurbish, revive, regain, and then rejoice as never before. If you don't believe it, just ask our political leaders or listen to them during a TV sound bite!

In the aftermath of the latest storms, Katrina and Rita, there has been no soul searching and no expressions of remorse coming from political and religious leadership -- no exhorting that we as a nation need to humbly turn to God, seek mercy, honestly confess our many transgressions as a nation which we have committed against the God Who has created this mighty universe and upholds it by the power of His Word! (Hebrews 1:1-4).

It appears we are determined to walk and respond to God's appeals much the same as did the ancient Israelite kingdoms of Israel and Judah.

God lamented the fact that after repeated calamities the northern kingdom of Israel chose not to return to Him -- they were resolved to continue in their ways of social oppression, greed and dishonesty, and then cap it off by defying God's laws through the practices of child sacrifice, idolatry and immorality! The book of the prophet Amos gives explicit details about this.

The southern kingdom of Judah was likewise guilty of similar conduct and in its latter years just prior to total destruction by the Babylonian empire God labeled it as a culture possessing a whore's forehead and refusing to be ashamed. (Jeremiah 3:1-3).

Why is it that our political and religious leadership refuse to admit that our national sins are more than deserving of the undiluted wrath of a holy God?

You object to that possibility? Would you suggest then, that God does indeed look with much favor and blessing upon the following prominent "activities" in United States culture at the present time?

The rampant practice of idolatry and greed, with money being at the top of our totem pole of idols? Quite a few deities which we have crafted over time hold a bunch of U.S. citizens in a very firm grip!




The intense profaning of the day of worship with a myriad of activities ranging from engagement in commercial business operations to entertainment, a packed slate of sporting events, and zealous pursuit of weekend leisure "get-aways?" Best estimates of attendance at morning worship services in the U.S. of A. is about 46 or 47 per cent of our population, and a number of these are "chomping at the bit" during worship hour and can't wait to get out of church to pursue their fun time!

We have been powerfully conditioned over time to regard Sunday as nothing more than a fun-day so that to use it strictly as a day of worship of Almighty God and a time of rest and TRUE relaxation is considered unreal and possibly even unhealthy for the family.



The pandemic crisis of sexual immorality and its bitter fruit of STD's (sexually transmitted diseases). Sexual immorality is clearly defined in God's revelation to us. Acts regarded as totally unacceptable to God are:

Fornication - sexual intimacy between an unmarried male and an unmarried female.

Adultery - sexual intimacy between a male and a female in which at least one partner is married to another person.

Homosexuality - sexual intimacy between 2 persons of the same gender -- these acts are not labeled as sin by God, but rather the word "abomination" is applied, meaning a sin intensified many times over!

Bestiality - sexual acts performed with animals.

Incest - sexual acts performed by family members with each other.

Sexual immorality has grown in U.S. culture with the speed of a malignant melanoma for a number of reasons:

High profile celebrities in the entertainment industries practice and exhibit it openly with no sense of shame and these are often the "role models" for our young people.

The entertainment industry itself has been spewing out material which encourages sexual immorality and presents it as being a "normal" way of life! In recent years there has been an onslaught of programming featuring sodomites and lesbians which sends a message that same-gender coupling is also very normal -- and anyone who takes exception to that is instantly labeled "homophobic" and very unchristian.

Within the ranks of professing Christianity there is a growing acceptance of sexual immorality. Rate of marriages failing among those professing to be Christian is nearly the same as that among persons who make no Christian profession. In a number of cases among those claiming to be "Christian" the cause was adultery and this includes pastors whose marriages fail!

An unchecked and exploding growth in the pornography industry has impacted our culture far beyond human ability to comprehend. This deadly menace can be accessed easily by persons of all ages on the internet in spite of so-called parental controls. The message embedded in what little conscience may possibly still exist is that sex is fun with anyone (or more than 1 anyone at the same!) anywhere anytime -- just do it and enjoy! And for our young, with junior and senior highs showing an accelerated rate of STD's, we'll just pass out free condoms and teach them how to practice "safe sex" -- we'll not try to impose any "value system" since each person should be free to make up their own minds and choose what "value system" best suits them -- and, oh yes, try to act "mature" when you decide you are ready to engage in sexual activity with a member of the opposite sex or a member of the same sex!

The forced removal of references to God and reading of the holy Scriptures in the public classrooms of our schools coupled with the deadly and false doctrine that humans have evolved from a lower life form. Charles Darwin is "god" in the public education system so far as "scientific" reference is concerned!



Since we do not allow our young to be exposed to any reference to God in their public educational experience, and since they are taught that we have simply evolved from a lower life form, and since a high percentage of our young do not attend church or Sunday School, and since they have parents who do not teach them the truth of a God Who has created this world and has a purpose for every human life, then we are essentially churning out a heathen generation which is traveling on a course leading to sure and certain self-destruction!

The only exceptions to this are the private schools which are decidedly Christian in orientation and those involved in home schooling of their children.

The uphill challenge is that Darwinism rules and reigns in the minds and hearts of the majority and if there is a claim to "belief" in "god," this "god" is a "god" of amorality and convenience, sitting in a state of inactivity very much the same as Buddha with his oversized belly! And in a state of emergency this "god" is very similar to our fire alarm systems -- you only break the glass in case of fire, and so it is that you only call on this "god" if there is some kind of emergency that you feel warrants a bit of assistance on the part of a deity!

"But where are your gods that you have made for yourselves? Let them arise, if they can save you in the time of your trouble; for according to the number of your cities are your gods, O Judah. Why will you plead with Me? You all have transgressed against Me," says the LORD. "In vain I have chastened your children; they received no correction..." (Jeremiah 2:28-30a)

The church groups which profess to be Christian in faith are in crisis. There are "conservative" groups which are growing in numbers but at the same time exhibit the tendency to go along with the secular world in its standards. One rather well known TV preacher was having marital problems and went on public record that if his marriage ended in divorce he would step down from what was considered to be a very conservative and successful "ministry."

The divorce happened but lo and behold it seemed a "new revelation" took place and he continues just the same as before his marriage busted up!

A very high profile radio talk show host whose reputation is that of being a staunch conservative espousing basic "family" values and those values often held by conservative Christians has gone through 3 marriages! Do you sense that something is really "off kilter" here?

Of far greater significance, however, is the growing tendency to engage in the no-win practice of "dialog" on three main fronts:

Increasing numbers of churches are in "dialog" with aggressive sodomite and lesbian groups which are pursuing an agenda that includes legal marriage for same-gender couples, adoption of children, and full inclusion in the church, including ordination for practicing sodomites and lesbians.

Entering into "dialog" with other religious groups such as Islam, Hinduism and others with the false assumption that such religious groups outside the boundary of Christianity also have legitimate claims when it comes to defining life's purpose, identifying deities, and ultimate destiny when human life has expired in this world. At the same time within the ranks of professing Christianity there is a growing tendency to back off from the truth of Jesus Christ being God incarnate and exclusively the way of salvation, peace, and hope for a permanent place in His eternal Kingdom! If you are going to "dialog" with Muslims, for instance, you simply cannot insist on the uniqueness and exclusiveness of Jesus as revealed in the holy Scriptures -- that simply creates discord and hostility, does it not?

In some cases there are theologians and pastors who do not hesitate in denying Jesus His true identity, His miraculous works, His sacrificial atonement for the sins of every human being, His triumphant resurrection 3 days after the crucifixion, and His scheduled future return to this planet to take full control and rule it as King of kings and Lord of lords! It is with such an apostate group that some claiming to be "evangelical" feel the need to engage in "dialog" -- for what purpose it seems no one can really explain other than to speak the Washington DC brand of rhetoric and say "we need to be open, respect one another's view points, try to learn from one another, etc." And so there are many voices from all sides of the theological spectrum who vehemently insist that "dialog" is necessary in order to eventually reach harmony and understanding while avoiding bitter divisions and conflict.



A simple question -- how many times can you cite where God engaged in "dialog" with those with whom He was in sharp disagreement? Remember, the issue was always over sin and defiance -- the refusal to fully accept God's truth and incorporate that truth into daily practice and human relationships!

Did God EVER say, "Let's sit down and negotiate -- maybe I've been a little harsh in my standards regarding sexual conduct -- now, just what changes do you want to make in regard to your sexual activities? I'm willing to bend a little bit so that you'll be happy and have more freedom to do what you want to do when those hormones begin to fire up!"

Or in regard to Jesus' claims -- did He EVER say, "Let's negotiate my very narrow claim that I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and that no one can come to the Father except through me -- I've been thinking about that and it's just too radical a concept -- so let's just forget I ever said it, OK?"

Oh, by the way, have you noticed how Jesus did the "dialog" thing with the religious leadership in 1st Century Jerusalem? Today's advocates of "dialog" would really haul Jesus over the coals for the way He acted in Matthew 23! Anything for us to learn in Jesus' example of doing "dialog?" And if we're really honest, would His remarks be much different with us church people today who feel that following the "dialog" road will usher in a heaven on earth if we just keep at it long enough?

In the meantime, as we recover from the last punch that "Mother Nature" has thrown our way, we will reclaim, rebuild, restore, remake, redo, refurbish, revive, regain, and then rejoice as never before, basking in all our pride and glory and be just a few more billions of dollars in debt than we used to be -- but then the government with it's tentacles will just take a bit more out of our pockets and everything will be OK or will it?????????

"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:37-39)

O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? even cry out to You, "Violence!" And You will not save. Why do You show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble?
