"Because they have forsaken Me and made this an alien place ….and have filled this place with the blood of the innocents……"

Another day that will live in infamy: January 22, 1973, the day the United States Supreme Court made the greatest and most deadly decision in its entire existence by "ruling" that a female can choose to have her unborn child mutilated and murdered! There is something about the number 40 that is different. It is mentioned from time to time in the Bible - 40 days, 40 years etc. God always did something special whether it was 40 days or 40 years. Perhaps one of the most famous actions on the part of God was the judgment of the flood at the time of Noah in which it rained non-stop for 40 days and 40 nights. On that basis it is reasonable to wonder what God may do now that the republic of the United States is entering its 40th year of systematic destruction of unborn children on the basis of a logic that rivals WW II Nazis who had established a rationale as to what persons should live and those who should die!
Victims of the Nazi Holocaust numbered in the range of about 14 to 17 million, depending on sources of information. Of that number 6 million of those were Jews. The United States' version of Holocaust has resulted in over 55 million unborn victims since the infamous Supreme Court decision in January 22, 1973.
Harry Blackmun, a United Methodist church member, wrote the majority opinion of the court which basically says a woman can choose to have her unborn child destroyed because the U.S. Constitution grants her the right to do so. Wherever Harry is now, he sees the issue of unborn life much differently than when he lived here on earth in a place called Washington DC years ago!
The most critical question which the majority refuses to face is this: when and how will Almighty God respond to this massive "shedding of innocent blood?" God has a plan and purpose for every conceived human life. To deliberately interfere with God's purposes is to invite a response that will be most unpleasant to say the least! Since we as a nation insist on ignoring God's call to repent of our personal and corporate sins, we can only expect the outpouring of His undiluted wrath upon us. A major problem is the fact that our leadership, church and political, shows absolutely no concern over our massive offenses that we have committed against God!
As we enter that 40th year of the shedding of innocent blood at the rate of about 25,000 per week, will 2013 be the year that God does make that response? As a nation we have a lot of sin accumulated but the one moral offence which stands out in front of all the rest and the one which is more than just a sin - it is an abomination and provokes the anger of God more quickly is that which takes the life of an unborn child for which He had a high and holy purpose. Take some time and think seriously for a while on the implications of certain statements made in Psalm 139 and Jeremiah 1:4, 5.

Watch this for 60 to 90 seconds
and see what happens! "Her priests have violated My law and profaned My holy things; they have not distinguished between the holy and unholy, nor have they made known the difference between the unclean and the clean; and they have hidden their eyes from My Sabbaths, so that I am profaned among them. Her princes in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood, to destroy people, and to get dishonest gain. Her prophets plastered them with untempered mortar, seeing false visions, and divining lies for them, saying, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' when the LORD had not spoken. The people of the land have used oppressions, committed robbery, and mistreated the poor and needy; and they wrongfully oppress the stranger. So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads," says the Lord GOD. --- Ezekiel 22:26-31"The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it." --- Jeremiah 18:7-10
A Significant Selah Moment!
O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? even cry out to You, "Violence!" And You will not save. Why do You show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. For the wicked surround the righteous; therefore perverse judgment proceeds.
Habakkuk 1:2-2 (NKJV)
