Then Moses and the leaders went back to the camp. The Lord sent a wind from the sea that brought quails and dropped them all around the camp. There were quails on the ground about three feet deep as far as you could walk in a day in any direction. All that day and night and all the next day the people went out and gathered the quails. No one gathered less than 60 bushels. Then they spread the quails out all around the camp. While the meat was still in their mouths—before they had even had a chance to chew it—the Lord became angry with the people and struck them with a severe plague. That place was called Kibroth Hattaavah [Graves of Those Who Craved {Meat}] because there they buried the people who had a strong craving {for meat}. -- Numbers 11:30-34
Democrats are dancing in the streets for the most part while Republicans do a lot of grieving over their losses in the November 2006 elections. The U.S. Congress is now under the control of the Democratic Party. And of course our illustrious mass media people will be in their glory as they continue to probe and pontificate on the election of 2006.
As Nancy Pelosi was elected to be the Speaker of the House of Representatives on January 4th a picture was taken of her “flexing” her right arm and she was reported as saying, “By electing me speaker you have brought us closer to the ideal of equality that is America’s heritage and hope. For our daughters and granddaughters today we have broken the marble ceiling.”
Nancy & Co. seem to be jubilant over the fact that they have initiated what is termed "lobby reform" and it appears that the majority of members of the House of Reps do support this. It is a piddling thing in which expensive gifts and free rides under certain conditions will not be permitted, etc. -- really just a few minor things in which the conscience might be salved a bit for a short time with the hope that the citzens will be misled into believing that the U.S. Congress is now on the way to serious reform in matters related to lobbying. In reality, nothing significant will be accomplished until decisive legislation is passed and signed by the president in which all professional lobbying is outlawed and anyone violating the law on lobbying at a professional level, as is now the practice in Washington DC, is fined a huge amount of money and thrown into prison without possibility of parole for 20 years minimum! Lobbying on the professional level is a very selfish and greedy enterprise -- basically it says "My group (or company or corporation) is most important above all others and we believe we should get the biggest slice of the pie for ourselves when it comes to legislative concerns under consideration -- to h... with the rest of the country and its citizens -- it's only what we gain for ourselves (our group and its members) and the fattening of our wallets that is important! And the lobbyists who help to bring this about for us will be highly rewarded!"
The only type of "lobbying" that is legal and even encouraged in the strictest constitutional sense is the right which we have as private citizens to personally on a "one on one" basis to petition our representatives in government -- we can personally write to them, call them, send a fax, etc. We can even go to their offices -- but it is always the same thing -- we have a constitutional right to do this as private citizens. Where this principle has become so corrupted is when the "professionals" who are paid big money by special interest groups and corporations enter the picture -- gifts are lavished on elected officials -- arm twisting takes place and the private citizen gets trampled just as he would if he tried to hold off a stampede of black angus cattle!
Actually, neither party has anything significant or of lasting value to offer the citizens of our republic. The first place to look for evidence of this is to closely examine what these elected officials have done for themselves by way of salary increases, health care, retirement, junkets, and a lavish inventory of “perk” benefits! Now do a little comparing -- Jane or Joe Blow who represent you in Washington DC -- how does your salary and your "benefits" (now and those anticipated in the future) compare with theirs? Do you see why they cry and whine when we citizens tend to be cynical about those who are supposed to represent us in government -- and why they haven't the slightest clue as to what the average citizen in the district or state they claim to "represent" is experiencing when it comes to issues of health care, income, retirement, etc. in life! Never forget -- for decades, elected officials at both federal and state levels have consistently betrayed the citizens they are supposed to faithfully represent! What we have now is a country so hopelessly in debt there is no hope of recovery because our reps won't exercise wisdom, discipline, and restraint in spending coupled with tax increases over the years so that the average citizen is pressing to the point of where he or she will have to work for nearly 6 months a year just to pay all taxes at all levels before being able to pocket one penny for personal use! Now just who do you think is responsible for this? And this is just the tip of the ice berg -- or perhaps a more fitting illustration is an ignited fuse which is about to set off an explosive device that will have uncomprehensible consequences!
Even more tragic than what these people have done for themselves, as they resemble a bunch of hogs gorging themselves at the trough, is the fact that they are embracing a value system that will incur the judgmental wrath of Almighty God upon this nation.
The time of that judgment is likely much closer than any of us want to really think about. A few solid reasons as to why God should bring judgment upon us at any possible moment are these:
– Our ongoing “policy” of destroying about an average of 100,000 unborn children every month of the year. Nancy and a majority of her buddies in the House of Reps haven’t demonstrated any real remorse over our country’s special brand of doing “holocaust!”

Are you ready for another interesting "statistic?" As you know, we were told that a very brutal dictator by the name of Saddam Hussein had to go -- presto! -- a deliberate invasion of Iraq took place -- Saddam eventually captured -- a dragged out trial over months and eventually Saddam was executed, but not without controversy and now we are bogged down in a place called Iraq with military deaths passing the 3,000 mark as we moved through the end of December 2006 -- but look at the number of victims of brutality in the "civilized" United States since the invasion of Iraq on the orders of a "pro-life" president! If you dare, watch the counter for about 60 to 90 seconds and see what happens -- what you see goes on around the clock every day of the week in terms of numbers representing a special group of victims whom very, very few really care about!

Our ever expanding practice of sexual immorality in its many repulsive forms – our daily exposure to images, information, and entertainment is constantly pressuring us to adopt the philosophy that “Sex is fun with anyone (or with two or more) anywhere and at any time – just name the time and place!” Since Nancy P. represents the city of San Francisco, it is easy to discern what kind of a value system she supports.
Our massive practice of idolatry with the “god” of money controlling the lives of millions who are driven 7 days a week by a demon identified as “greed.” But idolatry spreads its slimy tentacles into many other areas of life in the U.S. as we zealously pursue our cravings for entertainment, recreation (better spelled “wreckreation!”), and sporting events. In the process of it all we place the Creator of this mighty universe in a box and slap a label on the box that reads, “Open only in case of emergency!” And then we wonder why we are such miserable people and forced to gobble up pills by the bushel in an effort to make it through a week of “living” (term used loosely, because it is actually a state of death in which the majority of U.S. citizens presently find themselves) – to more graphically reveal the deplorable state of our culture perhaps we should start wearing a tee shirt someone came up with years ago – it pictured some rats on it with the bold caption, “I ran the rat race – the rats won!” Maybe Nancy should order that one to be the “uniform of the day” for her colleagues in Congress!
Will the “new” Congress with new people in control do anything to turn back the tsunami of evil that is crashing in upon us? Some have talked about “taking the country back” and moving in a “new direction!” Sounds like a repeat of an incident that happened centuries ago……. the ancient Israelites were moving toward the land of promise after a period of bitter slavery in the land of Egypt. God was blessing them and was providing for them each day, feeding them with manna which fell from the sky. But they were not content with God’s way of doing things – they wanted meat to eat so God granted the request – they got lots and lots of meat! But note what happened – listen to how it is recorded in the holy Scriptures:

So, watch out – while the “meat” of victory and power shifting is taking place with “flexing of muscles” in a place called Washington DC, we may not have that much time to really enjoy it before Almighty God decisively makes His response to the abominations and transgressions of which this nation and its leaders are guilty! Nancy P. & Co. are now really on the spot -- for years their mouths have been running faster than the lead car in the Indianapolis 500, and now that they are in control and the powerful positions of leadership are finally theirs, let's see what they produce by way of a higher quality of life for the citizens of our republic as well as establishing peace throughout this very violent world!
